The Cyi HPC Facility respects your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with the CYI policies found here and the additions as listed below.
This Privacy Policy(our “Privacy Policy”) describes the data you may provide to us when you access and use our HPC system(Cyclone). The Privacy Policy also describes how we maintain, protect, and disclose your data.
This policy applies to the data stored in the user’s home directory as well as the data under the project directory on the system.
By creating an account to access or use our HPC system, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
The HPC team takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. Hence, we handle your personal data as confidential information and in compliance with the European data protection regulations. All the data stored under your account’s home directory on the system can only be accessed by yourself. Similarly the data under your project’s directory can only be access by the members of the project. Access to user home directories and project directories can only be changed by their corresponding members. Furthermore the administrators of the HPC systems have complete access to all directories in order to maintain the systems and assist the users; but unless specifically asked by the data owners they will not alter or share any data.
Data left on the systems after the expiration of a project is deleted unless a specific written agreement is made with the head of the HPC Facility. Data in user home directories or project directories is NOT backed up. It is the responsibility of the user to back up their data to systems outside the HPCF
